Tutor Biography for Devin
Devin is currently a Math teacher at Manchester Valley High School located in Manchester, MD. He recently graduated from the nationally recognized education program at Towson University; his major was Special Education/Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. Also, he is a Level II CRLA certified mathematics tutor.
Devin has worked in the Towson University Math Lab since the Fall of 2008. He immediately saw a need. Many students had difficulties bridging the gap between the knowledge they were learning in class and the knowledge needed to pass exams. The Math Lab was and still is a saving grace for most students; but, there are many students out there who still have troubles, who still don’t get it, who are juggling a million different roles and math is last on the list, who lack that confidence in math, who “just aren’t good at it.”
Devin is determined to bridge that gap and has helped and continues to help many students as a result. He is passionate about pushing students to succeed in an environment that can be very daunting and anxiety ridden. He wants to make students feel comfortable in their time with us because it typically translates to students feeling comfortable and confident about Mathematics when they leave us.
